What Sand Hollow State Park Offers
Sand Hollow State Park brings together reservoir recreation and dune riding in one park. Utah State Parks describes the park as a place for boating, fishing, diving, swimming, kayaking, OHV riding, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
Along the water, you’ll find beach areas, a boat ramp with floating docks, a dive park and rentals. Camping is available in campgrounds or on the beach, so a visit can extend beyond day use if you plan to camp.

Choosing Activities for Your Visit
Choose your plans around the reservoir if you want to spend time on or beside the water; Sand Mountain is the focus for OHV riding. Picnicking and wildlife viewing offer options that don’t require watercraft or dune riding.
If you take a vessel onto the reservoir, carry a properly fitted lifejacket for every passenger. Children under 13 must wear one whenever a vessel is underway. The rule also covers kayaks and paddleboards.
Dogs are allowed in the park and campgrounds, but they must stay leashed. Don’t leave a pet in a vehicle. Fires are allowed only in designated fire rings, and refueling a vessel while it is floating on the reservoir is prohibited.

Park Entrance, Fees, and Hours
Park hours change with the time of year: the park is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. during daylight-saving time and from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. during standard time. The entrance gate closes overnight. The Visitor Center is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
A day-use pass can be for a vehicle or for an individual arriving on foot or by bicycle. Vehicle passes cover up to eight people and are valid only on the date of purchase. A pass does not guarantee entry if the park closes temporarily because it has reached capacity.
Day-use fees are $15 per vehicle for Utah residents Monday through Thursday and $20 Friday through Sunday; resident seniors age 65 or older pay $10. The fee is $30 per vehicle for nonresidents and $5 per person for walk-in visitors. Prices and operating details can change, so check the official site before you go.
